Environmental Action

Photos of dead and maimed wolves recently posted online have started a firestorm of controversy over renewed hunting and trapping of the once federally protected animals.

Environmental Action, a national environmental organization founded in 1970 that helped push for passage of the Endangered Species Act decades ago, has been leading an online campaign to build support for protecting wolves again. But this week they took their campaign, including grisly photos of bloodied and trapped wolves, to the streets of Washington, D.C., to provoke a response from politicians and regulators.

“Letting wolves be hunted and killed again was a political decision made by shallow political interests,” explained Director Drew Hudson. “We need to confront shallow politics with the real, gut-wrenching photos of what this policy means—that an iconic American species important to our ecosystems and our vision of the west  is being brutally hunted to extinction, again. Anyone who can look at these photos and do nothing is a coward, or worse a politician.”

The advertisement was funded by dozens of small donors who chipped in online after signing a petition to the President and Congress asking them to re-list the wolf as an endangered species.

Great idea–love it! Here’s hoping it works.

Thank You Environmental Action for doing this. The politicians need to see first hand the horror and cruelty that they created. I don’t care what the 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals ruling was. That budget bill rider they passed stripping wolves of their ESA protection and blocking judicial challenges violates our rights plain and simple. My Congressman and Senators will never have my vote again for passing that budget bill rider. Since they passed that budget bill rider, countless wolves have been killed and we have been forced to be subjected to it and have been forced to see the images of wolves that have been tortured and killed while the hunters and trappers thumb their noses at us. Since we have to be subjected to the horror and cruelty of this speciacide that is being commited on wolves, let this crooked government see it too so they can see just what they did! Personally I think there should be a whole fleet of moving billboards showing the government all the gruesome images with messages to reverse the budget bill rider they passed that has made this happen. This inhumane and horrific persecution and slaughter on the wolves needs to stop once and for all! I also say its time the dictatorship that hunting and trapping interests have over the rest of us on wildlife policy needs to be stopped permanently as well.

I am promoting this idea and sending the info on it to other wolf advocates to donate and I will also keep donating something every week to keep the moving billboard going as well. Thank You for standing up for the wolves. I just hope we can save them.

    Sincerely

    Justin Forte

Wolf murderers are YELLOW-BELLIED, COWARDLY SACKS OF DOGSHIT and I look forward with great pleasure to hearing of another mass school shooting in the relevant states – hopefully including the backward retards of these numbnutted morons. I am the Doctor, she who prescribes for her patient. MY patient is Mother Earth, and I diagnosed her problem decades ago. YOUR acts merely confirm my diagnosis – CANCER MUST BE EXCISED OR THE PATIENT DIES….Your move..!!

Wonderful job folks. This is a big step in shoving it down their thoats. THIS is what you’ve done to an innocent creature. This majestic, loving and loyal animal is being murdered at your whim. Glad you dragged that around DC. I’ll pay for a new tank of gas!

Great job EcoWatch. We need everything in our arsenal to deliver to the politicians who did this. I hope that this works ….. e mailing,
protests & letters haven’t seemed to do a damn thing. If it has, I haven’t seen any results. We have to start to group together & make our voices LOUD. I have been to several protest’s out west & I know people are angry about this.
    Thank You EcoWatch :-)

    But who signed the rider?

We need politicians who are literate in the ecology of the Earth, not clueless as to why man breathes. Man’s only, “life support systems” are generated by Earth’s natural and wild ecosystems, and ecosystems are created and sustained by their plant and animal biodiversity. Not only is the wolf biodiversity, he is a “keystone” specie, the foundation of his ecosystems!

The wolf’s eco-job is to trim the herd so the herd does not devour the Earth. He also trims the ever expanding populations of meso or mid-sized predators making inroads into our declining bird populations, small mammals, amphibians and reptiles.

We need to extend the wolf’s range, not obliterate them.

I’m so looking forward to seeing wolf carcasses in pickup beds this hunting season. Hopefully everyone just shoots them and let’s them rot where they lay. Give the crows and buzzards something to eat like the wolves do with all the deer they kill for sport. Wipe um out!!!!
