On Sept. 15, in more than 30 countries and 75 cities around the world, thousands of people will take to the streets on their bikes to challenge big oil’s plan to drill in the Arctic by participating in Greenpeace’s IceRide. The ride takes place as the sea ice reaches its lowest point for the year. As Arctic ice shrinks, along with it vanishes animal habit and indigenous peoples way of life.

With oil companies vying to profit from offshore oil drilling, the only thing that will save the Arctic, according to Greenpeace, is a truly global movement.
