The Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) released a bevy of figures and graphics that all point to one fact—May was the best sales month of all time for plug-in electric vehicles (EV).

The EDTA factored battery EVs and plug-in hybrids into its sales figure for the month: 12,453. That exceeded sales from May 2013 by 4,699 vehicles.

The year-to-date total is up by 35 percent over the time last year for a total of 43,480. According to EDTA, there are 211,097 total plug-in EVs on the road—more than 105,000 more than the total through May 2013.

The organization’s collection of graphics contains sales figures dating back to 2007, a look at the EV charging infrastructure and more.
